Leadership Councils

PARISH FINANCE COUNCIL

Description: This council advises the pastor on all financial matters and making the fiscal operation of the parish accountable and transparent. It assists the pastor in the administration of the material resources of the parish by examining and approving major expenses as well as collaborates with the business manager in the preparation of the annual budget. The Finance Council’s membership consists of five members.

Formation and training: One instructional meeting.

Time commitment: The Parish Finance Council meets once a month for 2 hours (except summer months). Each member is appointed for a three year term.
 

PASTORAL COUNCIL

Description: The Parish Pastoral Council engages the people and the pastor prayerfully in common reflection about the parish’s mission and the ministry. This council is responsible for pastoral planning, ongoing needs assessment, defining parish goals, setting broad strategies for implementing those goals, and evaluating the parish’s success in carrying out the Church’s mission. It advises and guides the pastor in serving the needs of the parishioners.

STEWARDSHIP COUNCIL

Description: Asks that we help each other recognize the gifts and talents with which God has blessed us and the ways in which we have been blessed through the gifts and talents of others. Invites us to help discern, call forth, and continually encourage one another to use the gifts and talents with which God has blessed us according to God’s will. And challenges us to share our time, talent and treasure beyond what we believe we can do or give so we can grow, individually and collectively, as God desires.

Formation and training: One instructional meeting.

Time commitment: The Parish Pastoral Council meets once a month for 2 hours (except summer months). Each member is appointed for a three year term.

 

COMMISSIONS
 

PARISH LIFE COMMISSION

The group of parishioners that plan and execute the social and communal events of our parish, whether those ore for fundraising or simply to celebrate parish life. The chair of this commission makes part of any of the Leadership Councils.

FAITH FORMATION COMMISSION

The group of parishioners that discern, plan and execute the faith formation programs in our parish. Works close with the School of Religion and Adult formation programs such as Pre baptismal classes, Parents Faith, RCIA. Promotes also the formation of leadership and catechetical leaders.

LITURGY AND SPIRITUAL LIFE COMMISSION

The group of parishioners that plan, prepare and execute the liturgies and devotional events of our parish. They may coordinate the different liturgical ministries, compose general intercessions for Sunday Mass, participate in art and environment and music ministry.

Time commitment: TBD
 

WORKS OF MERCY COMMISSION

The group of parishioners that discern, plan and execute services to the poor, advises on ways to reach out to others in need. Also they may be part of bereavement ministry and ministry to the sick.
